the flashing lights were dimming and all the children were running home with their arms full of oversized teddy bears and face paintings smearing off onto their hands and clothes. the children looked like wild animals leaving in herds of families. the stragglers were leaving in chunks of twos or threes that moved almost zombie like. leaving garbage on the ground left over from foot longs and cotton candies. mallory was one of the stragglers who was staying behind as the carnival closed, the lights were not yet off, but people were leaving and that was enough for her. she walked on over to the nearly evacuated carousel and hopped onto the platform and twirled through the horses. she stopped next to a baby pink horse that had gold and blue detailing around its saddle and face. even though the paint was chipping she could still see the beauty in its painting. she did a beautiful twirl next to the horse, followed by a leap over it and onto the ground. she landed softly on the ground, absorbing all of her shock into her soft shoes. her pink shoes were more or less stained with dirt and gum on the bottom. the clean white rubber at the bottom her shoes were plagued with a dark brown look that wouldn't come off no matter how hard she scrubbed, if she ever thought of cleaning them that was. a tiny shock went up her legs from her feet, dulled by the dirty rubber underneath her body. her knees gave out a bit and her body bent. there was no way that that wasn't going to hurt her in the morning. she bent down rubbed the back of her legs. at least she hadn't broken anything. words // 464 // outfit // clicky // tagged // mallory boy with a coin, T H E N M A K I N G A W I S H , A N D T O S S E D I N T H E S E A for a reason that lola could not explain, the carnival was one of the few things that could lift her spirits. being surrounded by happy people and all the distractions kept her from her personal thoughts that she tried to avoid. it was one of the few nights that lola was free, and she had spent a large portion of the night at the carnival with a few of her friends. they had left not too long ago, but lola stayed behind to watch the place shut down. as a little kid, lola and her entire family used to go to the carnival every year. once their father died, it was one of the few indulgences that their mother allowed. there were times lola missed the old days and her parents, but she was surviving. her parents were probably rolling in their graves because of lola's life choices, but at least she wasn't pregnant or taking drugs. lola was abruptly taken from her daydreaming by a little boy that had ran full force towards her. lola stumbled back a bit, and looked down into the eyes of the surprised little boy. unable to resist, lola ruffled the kid's hair before laughing at his retreating back. lola absolutely adored children, and she actually wished she could be one of them running about and acting crazy.
lola was about to continue on her way out of the carnival and to her beat up car when her attention was caught yet again. this time it was by a brunette twirling about on a carousel. even though lola was straight, there was something about the girl that attracted lola. a wide grin crossed her lips. anyone that knew lola well, knew exactly what that grin meant. trouble. lola walked towards the girl without hesitation, humming some annoying song that kept playing at one of the nearby games. "hi there sweetie." lola said to the girl, using her generic pet name for people. it was a nasty habit she had developed at work. "you know your legs will be hurting in the morning after that move" she laughed before sitting on the edge of the carousel, placing one knee over the other. "i'd like to start off by saying that i'm lola. and you're one hell of a dancer." lola kept her tone light and cheerful. lola was not one of those girls to beat around the bush. if she had something to say, she would let it out straight away. lola liked the looks of the girl in front of her. the girl almost seemed innocent, something lola hadn't been in many years. lola was well aware that the men at the club loved women that were innocent. lola was the kind of girl that only looked innocent.

out of pretty much no where mal noticed a girl, about her height and age coming out of what she considered, the shadows. of course she didn't expect her to talk to her. mal wasn't worth the time for most people anyways. she glanced up at her and then looked back down to inspect her legs for any signs of injuries, which she wouldn't really have. at least nothing that would stop her from continuing dancing. to her surprise lola walked up to her, maybe four feet away, and she started to praise her dancing and stupidity. her face started to fill with colour and she was officially blushing. she was such a nervous girl that it was officially impossible to talk to her and not expect her to get embarrassed of herself some how and that was something that would need to be fixed. "eh, i think i'll live through it. it doesn't look like it'll be anything bad anyways." she started off by saying, "and i'm mallory, one hell of a dancer." she gave a half smile into lola's direction and sat down on the edge of the now abandoned carousel. she motioned for lola to come sit next to her and she crossed her legs and spread them out in from of her. she was given some damn good legs from her parents, and she had to admit that they were one her best atributes. she didn't have much of a bust and she considered her arms and torso to be just a bit too lank for her taste. she wished she could be just a bit less this so that she wouldn't look so freaky. maybe she just needed to eat more and stop dancing too much. at least thats what the doctor said, she was burning off her calories just as fact as she could eat them if not faster. "you must dance a lot if you're used to making moves like that. how long have you been dancing?" she asked curiously, her head tilting to the side ever so slightly.
